Right at the beginning of the year, I got out of a narcissistic (emotionally abusive) relationship. On top of that, I started my matric year, on the 1st of January, when we got schoolwork for the first time this year. Needless to say, I could not seem to get it right, so my already low self-esteem got even lower. This was a very difficult time in my life, and looking back, I honestly don't know how I got through it. Then in March, I unexpectedly lost my foal to African Horsesickness. Let's just say, my year never seemed to get better: On the 27th of August, my eldes...

Pray through until you get breakthrough

Image
We so often find ourselves feeling like we are praying but never reaching God, especially when times get tough. So here is a few things I learned about prayer: Be Bold: Respectfully tell God what you need. You are allowed to tell God that you will not do X if he does not do Y first. Please note that I am by now means saying to become disrespectful. We have to sustain our 'holy fear of God, but we are allowed to be bold, as long as we do not become arrogant . Thank, Him for what He has done : Be grateful for what God has done in your past. Tell God that He did this or that in your past, and therefore "I trust that You will help me out of my current circumstances".  Stop doubting God: When you give a problem to God, do not take it back, and start worrying about it again. Acknowledge and trust that God will help you in that circumstance. Pray through doubt. Pray through until you get a breakthrough: Intercied until He intervenes. Keep on 'bugging' God with your pro...

Why does a loving God allow us to suffer?

Image
Why does a loving God allow us to suffer? Do you need to suffer to learn things? A revelation that I got, is that God teaches us, and will continue to teach us for the rest of eternity, but there aren't any hardships in heaven. He does not need you to suffer, in order to teach you.  Why do we suffer? Why do we have trails on earth, if we are not going to have trails in heaven? Think about the earth as boot camp, before you go to the army.  It is not promised that everyone that signs up for the army, is going to make it through boot camp. Boot camp just determines who is getting to the next level. Similarly to that, not everyone who lives on earth is going to wound up in heaven. 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what my Father in heaven wants. ~Matthew 7:21 When God created humans, He didn't intend for boot camp to happen. He fully equipped us with all of the knowledge and training we needed. It was not unti...

Listening to the answers God gave us to our questions!!!

Image
Tonight while I was doing bible study, I felt God placing something on my heart, that I need to share. When it comes to dating and relationships, especially new relationships, we tend to ask God to give us a sign of whether or not a certain person should be in our lives. When He answers our prayers, we proceed to go ahead and ignore the answer, in order to satisfy our own desires. If you ask God for a sign, accept his answer, because there is a reason for his answer. Rember, God will never remove something good from your life, if he is not planning on replacing it with something better!

Spend more time with God...

Image
You are never going to have growth in your relationship with God if you are only seeking Him on the days that you feel like doing it.  To have a relationship with God, and to grow towards the purpose that God has for our life, we have to seek Him daily. I am by no means saying that it is easy, but it is important if we want to experience spiritual growth. The enemy's greatest weapon against us is time. The more time he manages to steal from us, the less time we have to spend with God. Make time to spend in the presence of God. .....Be patient in the presence of God! Dwell in the presence of God: Do you find yourself wanting a place to feel safe, a place to be filled with peace, or for the presence to shine from within you? 14 Above all these, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together perfectly;  15 and let the shalom (peace) which comes from the Messiah be your heart’s decision-maker, for this is why you were called to be part of a single Body. ~Colossians ...

Why I prefer to use the Hebrew names for God...

Image
Why I prefer to use the Hebrew names for God...  Disclaimer: I am not by any means trying to shove my opinion into anyone's face, only providing my reasoning for my choices. The Word of God was originally written in Hebrew. There are many false teachings regarding this topic. The people who translated the Bible converted the scriptures from Hebrew to Greek and then to Latin before they finally translated to English.  Many people say the New Covenant(testament) was written in Greek, so they got the name of Jesus Christ after translating the Greek word ‘Isos Christos’ meaning equal headmaster. This immediately raises questions, because the Word of Elohim (God) states: Remember things that happened at the beginning, long ago - that I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. ~Isaiah 46:9   “there is none like me” – so how can Jesus Christ be an equal headmaster?  How did they get the name Jesus Christ from ‘Isos Christos’? - They translate...
